Permanent Supportive Housing
Esperanza En Escalante currently has several programs designed to help homeless veterans move into permanent supportive housing. These programs provide some level of subsidized rent support, as well as access to a case manager to work with the veteran to increase housing stability over the time.
Housing Choice Program for Homeless Veterans: Another City of Tucson program, also provides scattered site housing for homeless veterans, and is supported by Project Based Housing Choice Vouchers. Veterans must be homeless, income qualify and pass the City of Tucson Housing Choice qualifying process. Esperanza En Escalante staff work with the veteran to find suitable housing, as well as navigate the City of Tucson’s process.
EEE Supportive I Permanent Supportive Housing: Esperanza En Escalante is also a partner in EEE Supportive I, a site based apartment complex with 44 one bedroom units, opening in March 2017. Forty of the units are supported with project based Housing Choice vouchers. Residents must be 55 or older, preferably a veteran, income qualify, and pass the City of Tucson’s screening process.
